The opportunity should have been taken when it presented itself. We needed to qualify to guarantee attracting the class of player necessary to progress. This is one case where the cart could go before the horse!
You yourself said that we might lose players as a result of not qualifying. That will only leave us potentially weaker next season, and less able to get in to Europe. We have missed a golden window of opportunity to take a great leap forward as a club!
Decisive action is necessary by the club to ensure we strengthen and do qualify next year!
As for Spurs, yeah they are our rivals we want to beat them. But we need to get some perspective. I would prefer to lose to them twice in the league and win an FA Cup or qualify for the Champions League any day!
I still maintain that West Ham fans need to ditch the low expectations and demand sustained success.
