Hundreds of Santas are set to hit the streets for charity - just a week before Easter.

More than 400 runners who were set to take part in Saint Francis Hospice’s Santathon in December were left disappointed when snow and ice forced the charity, based in Havering-atte-Bower, to postpone the annual event.

But they have rescheduled the 5km fun run for Sunday, March 25, starting and finishing at Dagenham and Redbridge FC’s Victoria Road ground.

The hospice’s head of fundraising, Sarah Williamson, said: “Santathon is for everyone whatever your fitness level so whether you want to run, walk, scoot or be pulled along by your dog, you will receive one of our fabulous medals the moment you pass the finish line.”

Those who signed up for December’s event will be automatically registered. New runners are welcome to book their place, which costs £10 for adults and £5 for childrem via sfh.org.uk/santathon
