A SON of Barking and Dagenham Councillor, Alok Agrawal, has died following a car crash in India.
Abhishek Agrawal, 30, suffered serious head injuries in a road accident in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), in West Bengal, on August 6. He fell into a coma and died two days later.
Cllr Agrawal flew out to India shortly after the crash and was at his son's bedside during his final hours.
Abhishek, a software developer who grew up in the borough, was staying in Kolkata on business when the tragedy happened.
He leaves behind his wife Rachita, whom he married in February this year. He is also survived by his twin brother, Abahinav.
Family friend, Puneet Gupta, paid tribute to Abhishek: "He was a very gentle, kind, caring and intelligent man, who will be greatly missed.
