CREEKMOUTH preservation society will hold their annual St George's Day garden party this Saturday April 26.

This year has a Victorian theme, so go along to see traditional costumes, and hear a talk from the curator of Dagenham's Valence House.

The Victorian theme was chosen to correspond with the 130th anniversary of the Princess Alice tragedy - the pleasure steamer sank just off Creekmouth with the loss of hundreds of lives in 1878.

Held in the garden of the Crooked Billet pub, River Road, from 12-5pm, the event will also feature a BBQ, face-painting, and much more.
