SHOCKED neighbours paid their tributes to a man found stabbed to death at his Dagenham home.
David Trott, 52, of Charlecote Road, was found dead at his home at around 5pm on Monday March 9. He had been knifed in the chest.
It is believed a neighbour called police to the ground-floor maisonette after hearing a disturbance.
Mr Trott was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital where he received emergency surgery but died just after midnight.
Families living in Charlecote Road paid tribute to a "pleasant, regular guy".
One neighbour, who did not wish to give her name, said: "It was quite a shock. It seems that people here get on quite well."
Jackie Barrington who has lived in the street for five years, said: "It's such a shame. He was just a regular guy.
"We exchanged pleasantries when we did our front gardens."
Another Charlecote Road resident, who did not want to be named, said: "You never think that something like this is going to happen on your street."
A neighbour, who had came to England from war-stricken Kosovo in 1999, said: "I felt very bad when I heard about it. I did not sleep for two nights
"In my country there was war and I came to live here in peace.
"It brings back memories."
A post mortem was due to be held at Queens Hospital, Romford, at 4pm on Tuesday March 10.
* A 52-year-old man from Dagenham appeared before Barking Court on Thursday March 12 charged with the murder.
He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear before The Old Bailey on June 18.
