NHS London went on the road to visit 11 boroughs in eight days with a new 'Stop Smoking Services' Roadshow, and among its visits was to Vicarage Field shopping centre, in Barking .

Barking and Dagenham has high levels of people addicted to cigarettes, and many went to the NHS event to find out how to quit tobacco.

DVDs and other information were available, and members of the public could test the level of carbon monoxide in their bodies.

Another 'Stop Smoking' event was held in Gables Surgery, Markyate Road, Dagenham.

When people join the NHS 'Stop Smoking' services a trained adviser will help put together an individual plan to help the person quit. Group and one-to-one sessions are also available.

In London more than 70,000 people have stopped smoking with the service over the past 18 months.
