THREE forty-fourth places were the highest positions achieved by Havering Mayesbrook athletes in Essex colours at Saturday's Inter-Counties Championships at Nottingham.

Grant Twist was 44th in the under-20 men's event and strangely Nick Shade (under-13 boys) and Eleanor Bounds (under-15 girls) both also achieved an identical position in their races.

Seven other club athletes represented Essex. Freddy Keefe was just one place behind his under-13 boys' teammate and Rebecca Stanley was 129th in the under-15 girls' event.

Zoey Littlechild (89th) and Amber Turner (131st) contested the under-17 women's race, and Robyn Matson was 101st in the senior women's competition. Avril Loynes (203rd - under-13 girls) and Callum Sutton (265th - under-17 men) also saw action for Essex.
