COCA-COLA LEAGUE TWO

Hereford Utd 1 Daggers 1

A LATE strike from substitute Wesley Thomas earned Daggers a point from their trip to Hereford United on Saturday.

Thomas escaped his markers to head home a pinpoint cross from Danny Green with just seven minutes remaining and net only his second goal in Dagenham & Redbridge colours.

It had looked like Daggers would be going home empty handed after Bulls striker James Walker opened the scoring on 80 minutes, firing in from 25 yards, though keeper Tony Roberts would have expected to save his effort.

The veteran Welshman did recover to preserve his side's point though, blocking well when Sam Gwynne was left one-on-one after a fine through ball from Kenny Lunt.

Manager John Still had brought in Abu Ogogo for his full league debut, as the former Arsenal youngster replaced Scott Doe, who was dropped to the bench, while Danny Spiller came in for Jon Nurse.

Daggers: Tony Roberts, Abu Ogogo, Scott Griffiths, Mark Arber, Will Antwi, Danny Green (Jon Nurse 86), Stuart Thurgood, Danny Spiller, Peter Gain, Paul Benson, Josh Scott (Wes Thomas 78).

Subs not used: Chris Lewington, Scott Doe, Billy Bingham, Tommy Tejan-Sie, Graeme Montgomery.

Attendance: 2,253 (inc 71 away).
