A PROTEST march against gang violence will try to convince council and transport bosses to invest in safe road crossings.
Residents from Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge will march along the A12 in Chadwell Heath from the Eastern Avenue subway to the Somerville Road subway at noon on Saturday, April 11.
The Eastern Avenue subway has been a meeting point for violent gangs of youths who are responsible for a spate of muggings and attacks .
Calls for bus route extensions, permanent CCTV cameras and a pedestrian crossing on the A12 were dismissed by the council and Transport for London last month.
