Taxes are not just tricky for us as individuals, businesses also struggle to put their affairs in order.

Small business start-ups and entrepreneurs were given a helping hand in getting to grip with their own tax affairs by accountant Haeso Latke, 31, of Wykeham Green, Dagenham, and his newly founded company HPL Accountancy.

To help increase their confidence in dealing with the taxman, members of local businesses from across Barking and Dagenham and its neighbouring boroughs met at Romford war memorial centre on July 4 for a free workshop on saving money in an ethical way.

Mr Latke said: “The entrepreneurs got a lot of tips on ways to save their taxes.”

Participants also had the opportunity to win prizes, including free tax advice, accountancy software and other services.

The firm of tax advisors commits at least 10 per cent of its profits to local community development.
