TEACHERS and parents have been left in tears after their school burned down this morning.
A third of the ground floor of Cambell Infant, Langley Crescent, Dagenham, was engulfed by flames and the roof collapsed after a suspected electrical fault at about 6.15am. Most of the fire was out after 10am and there are no reported injuries.
Pupils, who went back to school yesterday after the heavy snowfalls, have the day off as have the older children at Cambell Junior.
Education chiefs are considering moving the infant children to the junior school tomorrow if they can restore the electricity supply.
Wendy Ross, 38, whose six-year-old son goes to the school, said: "I have been crying. The teachers have been crying. Some teachers have been there 30 years - they're going to be upset.
