AN ASPIRING dancer and model is looking for supporters who can help push her to the top of a national beauty contest.

Jodie Debenham, 15, of Blake Avenue, Barking, does not look as though she needs any help to win the Teen Queen UK beauty pageant.

But in order to win the title in the age group of 13 to 15-year-olds she needs as many telephone votes as she can get.

Jodie was spotted by organisers of the teen beauty contest when she went to a fashion show in Birmingham on a school trip.

Proud mum Jackie Mott, 47, said: "She's very excited.

"They stopped her there and asked if she wanted to take part.

"Not that she ever thought of modelling before.

"She was chosen out of over 500 applicants, I think."

The Eastbury School student spends most of her free time after school preparing for her GCSEs in dance.

Jodie is used to standing in the spotlight as she has already performed in school plays at the Broadway in Barking.

Mrs Mott, a clerk for a pharmaceutical company, said: "All that attention does not seem to faze her at all."

To place your vote for Jodie before 28th February 2009, call (0901) 656 1530.

Jodie said: "It's really cool to do this and it's something I have never done before"

The aspiring dance choreographer, who does the backing dance for a tribute act, said she would love to go into modelling.

She added: "My friends also think it's really cool. Everyone's really excited."
