AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl who has had 50 sexual partners has vowed to 'stop sleeping around' after confessing to her mother for a television programme.
Courageous Cheryl Tunney had to open up to her mum about her sexual promiscuity and penchant for internet dating as part of the BBC3 series Sex... with Mum and Dad.
The revelatory show sees the mother and daughter from Dagenham, air their sexual laundry to the nation.
Under the guidance of sexologist, Maria Schopman, they divulge how many men they have slept with, in a bid to restore their strained relationship.
Shocked mum, Debbie is left reeling when former Robert Clack student Cheryl reveals that she has slept with 50 men - many of whom she picked up on dating websites.
The teenager spoke to the POST last week: "I started using dating sites with my friends at about the age of 14.
"We would bunk off school and go to the internet café in Green Lane and just flirt with boys online.
"The first time I went to meet one of them we were both 14, but my mum went along with me.
"I didn't lose my virginity until I was 16, but I have now had about 50 partners.
That does seem like quite a lot for two years."
Cheryl was shocked to find that Debbie, 45, had had sex with only three men.
Cheryl explained: "We had to write our number of partners on a board for the show, and the initial for each partner's name, I couldn't believe my mum had only sex with three men
"It made my number seem really high and I could only remember about 40 of their names.
"I have since decided not to sleep around any more.
Excited but apprehensive, the teenager will watch the show at home with her mum when it is broadcast tonight (Wednesday).
She added: "We haven't seen the finished product and I am excited but nervous about tonight - I don't want people to think badly of me.
"But the show has had quite a positive affect on me, and my relationship with my mum.
"She still doesn't want me sleeping with lots of men, and I don't want to, so we do get on better.
"And I haven't been near an internet dating site since filming the programme.
"I now want to concentrate on my life and my future; I might try and make a career in hairdressing.
