Tejan-Sie struck with just a minute remaining, driving the ball into the next from inside the penalty box, as Daggers secured victory.
Manager John Still named a youthful side for the match, with only Tejan-Sie, goalkeeper Dave Hogan and striker Daniel Charge having tasted first team action before.
The visitors were ahead on 28 minutes, when 18-year-old striker Kwesi Appiah, formerly of Peterborough slid the ball home.
Thurrock levelled on the stroke of half time, but the game was decided by Tejan-Sie's late strike.
