A dying mum has had her dream wedding after wellwishers donated more than £7,000 to her fundraising appeal.

Kelly Arthur, of Bonham Road, Dagenham, was given away by her 12-year-old son Lenny at Queen’s Hospital chapel on Thursday.

Almost 200 people made it possible by donating to the 43-year-old’s GoFundMe page after being touched by her sad story.

Kelly, who set up the appeal two weeks’ ago, also appeared in the Post last week.

“We are so grateful,” Kelly’s sister, Samantha, said. “Without the support she wouldn’t have got her happy ending.

“She really enjoyed the day. As soon as she got up in the morning she was asking if she could put her dress on and Lenny was so proud to give his mum away.”

The family had very little time to organise the wedding after getting the go ahead from the registrar –just 24 hours.

“We blinged her up because she loves her bling,” Samantha added.
