Barking and Dagenham council are introducing a new texting service for housing repairs.

The new service means that more than 11,000 tenants can now receive confirmations and reminders about planned repair works to their properties.

This new system will save time and means there will be less missed appointments.

Cllr Dominic Twomey, the council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for finance, growth and investment, said: “We have listened to the concerns of our tenants and I am glad to say the introduction of the text service will go some way to addressing some of the issues.”

If you are not subscribed to the service, you can do so by registering a mobile number with the customer service advisor the next time they report a repair.
