A crowd of more than 6,000 people is expected at what promises to be a spectacular firework display at Barking Park.

Organised by Barking and East London Round Table, a voluntary organisation for men who want to help out in their communities, the annual charity fireworks event on Saturday, November 9, will be one of the largest in London.

This year’s live entertainment, which starts at 6pm, will be provided by local singer Jazz Blaack, girl duo Stereotypical, Rat Pack singer Sam Knight, and Essex singing sensation Michael Hinch.

As well as the display and the entertainment stage, there will also be a fun fair and catering facilities for the public with the countdown to the fireworks - which kick off at 8pm - led by Mayor of Barking and Dagenham Cllr Hardial Singh Rai.

The Post is an official media partner of the event, and last week we ran a competition to give away tickets to the bash.

Alfie Ford, Round Table events manager, explained the organisation is for men aged 18 to 45 and added: “We’re a bit like the National Lottery in that we give money to local charities and projects.

“Throughout the year we ask for donations and we try our best to help.

“We don’t choose a specific charity, just ones that provide support to people in Barking and Dagenham.

“The backing from our partners is important because the more support we can get, the more money we can raise.”

Entry to the event is £5 per adult and £1 for children under 16 with children from schools in the borough recieving a free ticket.
