If Daggers are awarded a penalty at Macclesfield on Saturday, then according to readers of the Post, midfielder Stuart Thurgood is the man they want to see step up to take it.

The combatitive midfielder polled 21 per cent of the vote on the Post website after leading scorer Paul Benson missed his effort against Bradford on Saturday and vowed not to take another spot kick.

Despite his miss, Benson was second favourite to have another go, while captain Mark Arber was third in the running, to have a try with his trusty left foot.

Going down the voting, there was support for Danny Green to try his luck, while goalkeeper Tony Roberts also got a fair bit of backing, and would probably fancy his chances too!

Manager John Still also picked up one nomination, but its fair to say that fans shouldn't hold their on the boss stepping up to the mark at Moss Rose today!

Full results:

Stuart Thurgood 20%

Paul Benson 15%

Mark Arber 13%

Danny Green 11%

Tony Roberts 11%

Peter Gain 9%

Danny Spiller 9%

Josh Scott 4%

Scott Griffiths 2%

Tommy Tejan-Sie 2%

Jon Nurse 2%
