Today Tom Watson MP launches his campaign for Labour Party deputy leadership.

The West Bromwich East representative will address an audience at Trades Hall Club in Dagenham at 10am this morning, his first public speech of a multi-stop campaign trail.

The former cabinet parliamentary secretary is also due to speak with disillusioned Labour voters in Dagenham, a spokesman from his office confirmed.

Watson is up against MPs Stella Creasey, Ben Bradshaw, Angela Eagle and Caroline Flint in the contest, with the result to be announced on Saturday, September 12.

Everyone is welcome at the meeting, and parking is available on Richardson Gardens.
