IN A surprise switch to their pre-season programme, Orient will play hosts to Championship side Newcastle United on Saturday, July 25.

The encounter with the Magpies replaces the friendly at Luton Town, which was scheduled for the same date and has now been cancelled, along with the club's Open Day, which was due to take place on Sunday, July 26.

Orient's decision to pull out of the trip to Luton, so late in the day, has annoyed the Blue Square Premier side.

The match against Newcastle will be the only pre-season friendly to be played at Brisbane Road and tickets for the game are now available. The rest of the friendly matches are all away.
