THE FAMILY of an ex-Ford worker who died of an asbestos-related cancer want to trace his ex-work colleagues.

Alwyn Thomas, known as Tom or Tommy, died from mesothelioma in April, 2008 at the age of 79.

Lawyers representing his family want to know what working conditions were like at his places of work.

From 1960 to 1963 Mr Thomas worked at Motor Gear and Engineering Company in Chadwell Heath, before moving to Ford's in Dagenham for two years, and at Basildon right up to 1991.

His son, Marcus said: "After dad died we began to look into where he was exposed to asbestos.

"We want anyone who remembers working with him to help us find out more about his working life."

Mr Thomas was born in Guyana and moved to Britain in the 1950s. He lived in Ilford then Basildon.

Anyone able to help should call Thompson solicitors on 0207 290 0000.
