TRAFFIC CHAOS descended on the A406 this morning after a crash involving two lorries blocked the road for over two hours.

The accident happened in East Ham on the North Circular opposite Tesco at 6.30am.

Paramedics from Newham Hospital arrived at the scene shortly after and treated a 24-year-old man for a hand injury.

The man was then taken to Newham Hospital; no-one was seriously injured.

Barking Fire Brigade was called also to the wreckage and road maintenance worked for hours clearing debris from the road to help the flow of traffic.

However it was nearly 8.50am by the time the road was reopened making many commuters late for work.
