Police are appealing for information after a trailer was stolen from a Dagenham hotel car park on Saturday night.

Owned by Telford-based sound, lighting and furniture rental company Press Red, the Blue Line Trailer was reported missing from outside Premier Inn, in New Road, just before 9pm.

The drivers had gone to the nearby Brewers Fayre for dinner, but upon returning, the trailer – which has a serial number BL9690, and registration plate PR55 RED – had gone.

Although only containing boxes at the time, it had been used to transport furniture to the ExCeL Arena for the 25th regional congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion.

Press Red director Derek Tallent, 50, said: “It’s a great inconvenience – we just want it back.

“We often stay in Dagenham when we’re coming to the ExCeL and we’ve never had a problem before.

“It was empty apart from a few empty boxes, so there was no contents worth taking.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
