The frustration of trying to find a seat on a packed train could be a thing of the past thanks to a new platform board.

Rail operator c2c are rolling out the digital boards which show the carriages that have free seats before the train arrives so passengers can chose where to wait on the platform.

Julian Drury, c2c managing director said: “We know how frustrating it is for our customers if they are standing in a busy carriage, when just yards behind them on exactly the same train there are free seats which aren’t being used.

“We’re investing in these new information boards as part of our £40m improvement package for customers and these will give our customers more information to make an informed choice about where best to board their chosen train.”

If it is a success it will ease the pressure on your feet and of course your elbows.
