WITH the transfer window expected to throw up a number of surprises today, then the best way to keep in touch with the comings and goings is on the Ilford Recorder website. We will bring you updates every hour, covering the latest deals and gossip, lookin

5.45pm

A quick bit of news just in is that unsurprisingly, Robbie Keane HAS joined Liverpool.

So much for Rafa's words yesterday declaring he wanted him to stay then...

As for Daggers, it seems that Loft is the only transfer in, though more importantly, no-one has gone out, so the promotion push remains a distinct possibility!

5pm

The transfer window has now officially shut, but rest assured, there will be some deals announced over the course of the evening!

4.35pm

Big news for Daggers with the arrival of Doug Loft from Brighton, check out the Recorder for the latest story on the signing.

3.50pm

One firm bit of news is that Charles N'Zogbia has signed for Wigan now, lets just hope Steve Bruce knows how to pronounce his name!!

Going the other way, Ryan Taylor has joined Newcastle.

3.47pm

Its almost eerily quiet right now, with just over an hour to go, and nothing happening on the transfer front.

Here's hoping for an explosive last 60 minute or so, and who knows, maybe Daggers will have a new face in the squad in time for Saturday's trip to Bury.

3.18pm

Pretty quiet this window so far, maybe everybody is saving their pennies until the last hour, or just sticking with what they have.

Some sources say that Andrei Arshavin's move to Arsenal is looking more likley now, but in League Two, it remains the same.

So far, only Barnet have made any real business, signing two players, while none of Daggers play-off or promotion rivals have splashed the cash.

Will it happen in the next hour and half? Keep checking back to find out!

2.47pm

It appears that the previous notice about the deadline will not be bothering Daggers as the Football League has released this statement.

"We've not had any clubs indicate any issues so far, so at the moment the five o'clock deadline will proceed as planned."

So, John Still has just over two hours if he is going to strengthen his squad, but who knows if he is going to?

2.29pm

An update on the weather situation and the transfer window reads like this.

The Premier League has announced it will grant applications from clubs to complete transactions after the 1700 deadline today if there is email confirmation from the two clubs involved that a deal has been agreed in principle.

The club signing the player must also satisfy the board that the prevailing weather conditions have prevented the signing from being completed by the deadline.

So it seems like even though the deadline is at 5pm, there could be a number of late deals going through this evening!

1.45pm

News at the moment is that Robbie Keane has been given the opportunity to talk to Liverpool about a possible transfer back to White Hart Lane.

In League Two, Wycombe has signed striker John-Paul Pittman from Crawley, so it doesn't look like they will come back in with a bigger bid for Strevens now, good news for all Daggers fans that.

1.25pm

Big update from Daggers, with the club confirming they have turned down a bid from league leaders Wycombe for striker Ben Strevens.

Check out the story on the Recorder website, but it is good news for the Daggers promotion push, in which Strevens partnership with Benson is undoubtedly the key.

1pm

Its all starting to hot up now, with Pompey snapping up Angelos Basinas from AEK Athens, while lower down the leagues Brighton have shelled out 150k for Jim McNulty from Stockport.

An Albion fan, Marc Johnson, has also been in touch with rumours about striker Jake Robinson.

Just wondering if there is any news/rumour about the brighton striker/winger jake robinson signing for the daggers, either permanently or on loan.. he is said to be interesting several league 2 clubs, including the daggers, aldershot and shrewsbury.

as a brighton fan, i would be very disappointed to see him go. he just needs a manager and coaching team who believe in him and preferably play him up front.

As yet, there has been nothing from Daggers about signing Robinson, and they are quite well off in forward positions.

It all depends on whether Wycombe come back in for Ben Strevens, who has formed a prolific partnership with Paul Benson, as they are interested, but haven't stumped up the cash just yet.

Latest information to come through about the deadline being extended is that clubs might be allowed to file the agreements of the transfer and then be allowed to conclude the formalities later on.

These would be judged on a case-by-case basis, but with roads blocked and flights grounded something has to be done.

Can't see it affecting Daggers too much, but as yet, there has been no action to come out of Victoria Road.

12noon

Some news from League Two and that is that Barnet has signed Matt Lockwood on loan from Colchester, while also snapping up Mark Hughes from Chester.

All the talk from the Premier League is that Robbie Keane could be on his way back to Spurs, with Aaron Lennon going in the other direction, but none of that has been confirmed yet.

For Daggers there has been nothing official at the moment, so maybe John Still is keeping his powder dry for a late raid in the afternoon.

First rumour of the day, comes in!

Strevens goes

to the training ground after getting his newspaper.

Don't you just love deadline day? :o)

11pm All very quiet on the transfer front at the moment, though there is talk of the window being extended because of the snowy conditions, and looking out of the office in Ilford, it's still coming down out there!

Email: daggersmatch@live.co.uk

10pm - Biggest news of the day so far is that Shay Given has expectedly joined Man City from Newcastle, while Pompey have snapped up Theofanis Gekas.

There has been nothing in League Two though yet, but that is bound to change as the day progresses.
