The Dagenham Post is running a transfer deadline day special today – with all the latest news and rumours from comings and goings, not just at Victoria Road, but over the whole country.

Well then, there were some late deals to be had, with Stoke signing Asmir Begovic for 3.25m, Robbie Keane joining Celtic and Mido moving to West Ham on loan until the end of the season.

Thanks for your company today and if you have any last messages, email: mike.simmonds@archant.co.uk

Grimsby have snapped up Southampton defender Ollie Lancashire, while Adam Johnson has finally completed his protracted move to Man City from Middlesbrough.

More transfers are being drip fed through, so there will be an conclusive update at 8pm as some of us have to drive home!

Its already come through that David Healy has joined Ipswich from Sunderland on loan as has Spurs defender Alan Hutton.

Deadline day is officially over - but expect there to be some late deals still to be announced!

Three minutes to go now and having just spoken to John Still, it looks like there is to be no more business in or out of Victoria Road, barring any last-minute surprises.

16.31: Fulham have taken on German youngster Christopher Buchtmann from Liverpool, another player I've no idea who he is!

One bit of League Two news is that Burton Albion have rejected an offer from Hereford for defender Tony James.

One hour to go now, there must surely be some late deals to be had!

15.54: Phones must be ringing red hot right now as managers try and find that last piece of deadline day business. Will Daggers pounce again?

Danny North has also left Grimsby, as has Michael Duberry with Wycombe, a bit of a comedown for him.

In other news, Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork has joined Burnley on loan, while Chesterfield have signed Danny Boshell and Adam Rundle, who have been released by Grimsby and Rochdale respectively.

There is the signing that John Still has been hoping to make - the full story is on the main site, but he is a 19-year-old defender who played against Daggers for Grimsby this year and has also been on loan at Port Vale too.

A five-figure fee has been paid for his services, so what do you make of Daggers new full back? Email: mike.simmonds@archant.co.uk

SIGNING FOR DAGGERS - DAMIEN McCRORY FROM PLYMOUTH ARGYLE:

14.51:The latest rumours are that Middlesborough have accepted Man City's bid for Adam Johnson, but there is nothing confirmed so far.

Troy Archibald-Henvillle, who made his Football League debut at Daggers for Exeter last year, has now moved to the club permanently from White Hart Lane.

14.41: Just over two hours to go now, and as yet, nothing at Daggers, but knowing John Still, he'll be doing his best to get something sorted.

Leon Best has just moved to Newcastle from Coventry though.

14.08: Another deal to be completed as David Nugent leaves Pompey for Burnley on loan till the end of the season.

Right then, here we go again.

14.00: West Ham have confirmed the Benni McCarthy signing, so he will try and spearhead the Hammers push against relegation, while Brazilian striker Ilan has been linked with Upton Park all day after being released by St Etienne.

In League Two Jamie Clarke, Danny Boshell and Matt Heywood have all left Grimsby by mutual consent.

But before I go, PoshDagger has got this to say

From my perspective it’s not so much of a case of “who” I would like to see move to Victoria Road but “what”! I think – and so do many fans – that we need a left back. Well – we don’t have one at the moment – so that’s an obvious one. Billy Jones from Crewe is in the frame so that would be a good buy.

I expect Crewe to take an offer from us as he is out of contract at the end of the season. Also – perhaps another option for midfield? A holding player as we have plenty of creative talent already. Let’s see what the day brings?

Also – and finally – rumours of Peterborough offering JS a job could be founded. But then again he did say this was his last job.....................!!

All valid points there and the signs are that a left back will be on his way today - whether its Billy Jones is another matter, but surely Crewe would relent on their valuation and accept a fee as he is out of contract in the summer.

Some more bite in midfield would be good though, especially with Thurgood still missing, while I doubt Still will be off to London Road, but stranger things have happened!

13.21pm: Fulham have agreed to take Nicky Shorey on loan from Villa until the end of the season.

And that is the lunch bell here, so updates will resume in a short while - who knows if there will be some action at Victoria Road before then?

13.10pm:Liverpool teenager Vincent Weijl has joined Dutch second tier side Helmond Sport. I'm going to be honest, I've never heard of him!

The Post understands that Daggers will be making a move in the transfer market today, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Who would you like to see move to Victoria Road? Email: mike.simmonds@archant.co.uk

13.03: Middlesbrough have snapped up Spurs defender Kyle Naughton on loan, while Wycombe, who could be back in League Two next year, have taken Gareth Ainsworth on a free transfer.

Plenty of interest in Hull's Stephen Hunt, as Wolves' 5million bid is rejected.

12.47pm: Lincoln City have agreed to take Rangers striker Steven Lennon on loan until the end of the season. He'll come up against Daggers when Saturday's game is rearranged then.

Callum has been in touch with some hot gossip for Daggers

I walked to get the paper about an hour ago and I spotted, Billy Jones and Matt Ritchie both driving into the ground, I wonder if these deals are going to be done.

I personally would love to see Ritchie back in a Daggers shirt, but its looking less likely as the day progresses, what with Swindon after his signature too.

PETERBOROUGH HAVE SACKED MARK COOPER

Not entirely transfer news, but that is a remarkable turn of events at London Road - wonder what Scott Griffiths and the rest of the former Daggers make of it.

12.19pm: Celtic have snapped up another player, bringing Dutch international defender Edson Braafheid on loan from Bayern Munich. That's the third piece of business for Tony Mowbray today, while Birmingham striker Marcus Bent, who scored against Daggers in a pre-season friendly, has moved to QPR on loan.

Remember, you can email your thoughts on the days news to mike.simmonds@archant.co.uk

11.54am Skysports have reported that Swindon are in talks to sign Portsmouth youngster and former Daggers loanee Matt Ritchie. That could scupper any move to Victoria Road for the teenager then.

LEAGUE TWO DEAL: Nothing exciting, but Marc Goodfellow has left Burton for Kidderminster on loan. I did say it wasn't exciting!

11.27 Still all quiet at Daggers and a lot of other clubs throughout the leagues. Thats to be expected though as the action doesnt really hot up until after lunch.

11.02 Wigan have confirmed the signing of Palace youngster Victor Moses on a three and a half year deal. Good move for the teenager that as he'll get regular first-team football rather than have to make do with a place on the bench.

10.47: Early rumours from Victoria Road are that Jamie Day has returned to parent club Peterborough, while there are also reports that Daggers are interested in left back Damien McCrory from Plymouth Argyle. If you have an opinion on this, email mike.simmonds@archant.co.uk
