Two arrested over betting shop death

POLICE have made two arrests in connection with the death of a man who collapsed in a Barking bookmaker s shop. The two men, aged 22 and 20, are being held at an east London police station. Leslie Bones, 60, of Merton Road, Ilford, died on Sunday morning

POLICE have made two arrests in connection with the death of a man who collapsed in a Barking bookmaker's shop.

The two men, aged 22 and 20, are being held at an east London police station.

Leslie Bones, 60, of Merton Road, Ilford, died on Sunday morning after being attacked in Coral Bookmakers, Station Parade, Barking, on Saturday afternoon.

A post mortem carried out at Queen's Hospital gave the cause of death as a blow to the head.

A spokesman for Coral, which has its headquarters in Barking Town Centre, said: "Our staff acted quickly in response to the incident, and we are extremely shocked and saddened by what happened."
