A YOUNG mother was left humiliated after having her car clamped in front of friends and neighbours - despite having a valid tax disc clearly displayed on the windscreen.

Holly Thorpe, 20, of Whitebarn Lane, Dagenham bought the brand new Peugeot back in January, and paid £180 to have the vehicle taxed by the dealership before she drove the off the forecourt.

So she was surprised to look out of her window early last Thursday morning to see clamps being fitted to it.

Running outside in her pyjamas, the mother-of-one was confronted with the sight of a huge penalty notice slapped across her windscreen, and a man preparing to fit the clamps to the wheels.
