A BARKING Vicar has swum 22 miles for the Aspire Charity raising over £400.

Reverend David Pearson, 56, of Christ Church, Barking, decided to take up the challenge of swimming the length of the English Channel for the third time.

He said: "The Aspire charity supports people with spinal cord injuries and disabilities.

The swim took place at Esporta Health Club in Romford.

He said: "The worst part of the swim was it is so boring, I would sometimes loose track of the lengths I had done, which isn't helpful".
