Barking’s Living Faith Connections Choir were crowned the nation’s best gospel act at last night’s MOBO awards.

The choir beat off competition from four other acts - including Dagenham’s Noel Robinson - to take home the crown.

The ceremony, which took place at Wembley Arena, was dominated by singer-songwriter Sam Smith, who won four awards.

Speaking ahead of last night’s bash, musical director Evans Ogboi said it felt “absolutely incredible” to be nominated for the first time.

The choir are set to embark on a world tour next year.
