Reunion for the Village Blues Club, former organisers of the Dagenham Roundhouse
PUBLISHED: 14:28 13 August 2018
A reunion is being held for the Village Blues Club, the group that ran the Dagenham Roundhouse music venue from 1969-1975.
It’s being organised by Ken Ansted, an old regular at the club who’s been running reunions since 2012.
Headlining will be Son of MAN, an extension of the band MAN, who used to be frequent performers at the club.
After the lead guitarist of MAN, Micky Jones, passed away in 2010, his son, George, who used to play in the band, quit to form a new group. Together with drummer Bob Richards, they formed Son of MAN.
The band, who are recording their second album, will be playing at the reunion with Tweke Lewis and John McKenzie, who both played with MAN in the 70s.
The reunion will be on September 22 at 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale for £15 at Progfan123@Hotmail.com or over the bar at the Roundhouse. There will be some on the door for £18.
