The Olympics are long gone, but there are still plenty of volunteering opportunities at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this summer.
“Barking and Dagenham residents are being offered further opportunities to volunteer at the Open East Festival,” a council spokesman said, encouraging people to sign up as helpers for the event, which takes place at the venue on the weekend of July 27-28.
The festival – which is being run by famous playhouse the Barbican, music promoter Live Nation UK, and east London arts organisation Create - will play host to a series of events including music concerts, plays, food shows, and even a travelling art circus.

The deadline for registration is Monday, July 15.
