Vue Cinema in Dagenham has launched a series of film screenings adapted to people with autism.

The new season of sensory-friendly viewings makes subtle alterations to the cinema experience including no adverts, lighting left on low and sound turned down.

On the last Sunday of each month the screenings will be available at Vue cinemas nationwide including Vue Cinema in Dagenham Leisure Park, Cook Road.

Brian Edwards, manager at Vue Dagenham, said: “At Vue Cinemas we are dedicated to providing all our customers with the best cinematic experience possible, we are delighted to be bringing autism friendly screenings to our customers as it will mean those who were previously unable to attend can now witness films on the big screen, receiving the ultimate viewing experience specifically tailored to their needs.”
