A flurry of morning snow left early-risers wandering through a winter wonderland in parks across the borough.
It was a dog’s life for the many mutts going for a walk with their owners and fine occasion for a spot of frolicking on the frozen ground, minding the ducks and geese of course.
The burst of snow was too wet to stay long on the ground at Barking Park and Dagenham Central Park as it fell today, bringing colder weather along with it.
Temperatures in the parks dipped to just 1C but the snow, which caused some minor travel disruptions across east London networks, was mainly light and confined to areas north of London.
The last bout of snowfall in Barking and Dagenham was some three weeks ago, at the end of January, when one reader’s “snow gorilla” left us suitably impressed (see related links).
