May I join with your correspondent, Sam Tarry, (Post,17th February, 2010) in congratulating the council regarding its support for the continued development of Padnall Lake and its surroundings.
At the same time, congratulations should also be offered to the Friends of Padnall Lake group, of which I am chairman, for the outstanding work that the members have contributed towards the lake's continued development. This has followed many years of lobbying the council for support and funding, by the group.
Eventually the effort proved to be worthwhile and last year the site was awarded a Green Pennant. It has been transformed from a civic eyesore to a genuine civic amenity due to the hard, dedicated work of the people of Mark's Gate in cooperation with the council.
It goes to prove that with good will and determination nothing is un-achievable.
