A former sniper who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder has swum a mile in wellies and overalls for a mental health charity.
Andy Donald, 33, decided to take on the challenge on Sunday to raise money for Combat Stress, which supports veterans with mental health issues.
He finished the swim at the Becontree Heath leisure centre in 50 minutes and 14 seconds β well within his hour target.
Andy, who has vivid nightmares from his time in the army, was recovering from a week-long hospital stay after overdosing when he decided to do the swim.
βIt was all upper body strength because the wellies were full of water,β explained.
