Archant

Two people were injured during a collision between a car and a van at the junction of Whalebone Lane and Eastern Avenue, close to the Moby Dick, this morning.

One of them was trapped in a vehicle and was taken to hospital after they were freed by firemen who were called to the scene at around 9.30am.

The accident caused severe delays for commuters at Whalebone Lane with lane restrictions both ways on the A12.

Traffic was flowing normally again after lane restrictions were lifted.
