Emergency services attended the scene in Stephenson Street


Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a violent assault in Barking.

Police were called at approximately 12.30am on Tuesday to Salisbury Avenue, Barking, after a man was attacked in the street.

The victim, who is in his mid-20s, was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital with a facial injury, believed to have been caused by an unknown object.

He has since been discharged.

The suspect is described as a black man, and was wearing a black hooded top and jeans.
