Women’s cafe to open in Barking with henna and health-checks

A cafe will be dishing up more than just hot drinks when it launches on Friday.
Health-checks and henna hand-painting will be among the activities at the Excel Women’s Centre in Barking, where a new café will focus more on health than hamburgers.
The lottery-funded project will by run by Barking and Dagenham Somali Women’s Association but is aimed at women and their families from all backgrounds.
All are welcome at the free launch in London Road, which runs from 12-2pm. To find out more about the centre, ring 0208 594 3730.
