IT was 20 years ago today...when this picture captured a group of youngsters in Plaistow who had got all charged up for a special competition that included electronics.
The 30 members of Elizabeth Engineering Club, at Elizabeth Fry School in Plaistow, reached the regional finals of the Young Engineers for Britain competition.
They had worked on five electronic projects, all selected for the finals, including a unique intercom system for sheltered housing, computerised processing for photographers and a climbing toy car.
A lot of thought and time went into the projects.
Competition organisers , the Engineering Council, were delighted and impressed. Pupils Siafur Vali, 14, is shown in front with the climbing car.
