Youth arts festival showcases young people’s ‘dreams and aspirations’ at the Broadway Theatre

Young people performed in front of the Barking and Dagenham Mayor at a festival showcasing their dreams and aspirations.

The event, Tomorrow’s Me Youth Arts Festival, at the Broadway Theatre saw 12 acts performing in various artforms.

Those on stage on Tuesday included Big Dreams Young Dancers, who are based in the borough, and the London-wide Motion Dance Collective.

The Mayor, Cllr Hardiah Singh Rai, said: “The evening was an eye opener as it showed the exciting array of talent in the borough.

“As Mayor, I see my role as that of an ambassador for the whole community, young and old alike and I was extremely proud to have witnessed the performance of these young people.”
