Dagenham & Redbridge have delighted their supporters by announcing the return of a fan favourite.
Sam Ling has signed a new contract, sending the defender into a fifth season with the club over two spells.
And he has committed his future at Victoria Road for another two seasons as well.
He said: "It is a club I have been at for a number of years now so when I sat down with the gaffer, it was the right deal for me and I was more than happy to sign.
"You don't often want to get back to pre-season as a player because it is so tough but the optimism around the place, I just can't wait to get going again."
Manager Ben Strevens was in no doubt about offering him the opportunity to be part of the club’s next chapter.
The boss said: "We’re really happy to have Sam commit to the football club for the next few years.
"He’s a really well respected and liked character around the dressing room and with our supporters, but he’s also a fantastic footballer.
"Last season showed just how committed he is to his teammates and to the task at hand. I think I asked him to play four different positions, and every time he was fantastic."
Daggers begin their pre-season campaign away to Aveley on July 8 with home games against West Ham United, Leyton Orient and Gillingham planned.
