Barking earned the bragging rights in their Hamro Foundation Essex League Division Three derby with Goresbook at the M&B Sports Ground.

Visiting Skipper Shan Shafiq won the toss and invited the hosts to bat, with opening bowler Hazrat Shah vindicating the decision with a match winning spell of 6-48.

Home skipper Kane Messenger added 24 late in the day but the damage was completed by Abdul Razzaq’s three-wicket return reducing the Dagenham outfit to 122 all out.

Messenger (5-45) helped himself to five wickets after tea as Goresbrook fought back, but Raihan Hussain held Barking's reply together with a dogged 34.

Eman Shaikh played some excellent shots in an entertaining 49, before Shah completed a fine all-round display with an unbeaten 11 to clinch a four-wicket success.

Stow openers Ali (84 not out) and Salim, who added an excellent half-century of his own, laid the foundations for their reply, with a wicket apiece for Muhammad Imran and Rukon plus a sharp run out by keeper Lovelin Mostra the only consolation for Goresbrook as the hosts closed on 185-3 in 27 overs.
