It proved a largely frustrating night for National League rivals Dagenham & Redbridge, Barnet and Wealdstone.

Dagenham & Redbridge slumped to a 4-2 defeat at home against Gateshead to make it just one point from a possible nine so far this season.

And Barnet let a three-goal lead slip to draw at Eastleigh, while Wealdstone had an early effort cancelled out in a 1-1 draw at Bromley.

Daggers made a positive start and saw Tom Eastman head the first chance of note wide from Jake Hessenthaler's cross on 13 minutes.

Nik Tavares was then booked before Charley Kendall's effort was comfortably saved by Archie Mair.

And Harry Phipps was also shown a yellow card, before Luke Hannant put Gateshead in front on 35 minutes.

Elliot Justham produced a vital save to deny the visitors a second moments later, with Mair's great save preventing Myles Weston from levelling just before half-time.

Phipps went close from a header soon after the restart, but Regan Booty almost put Gateshead 2-0 up on 49 minutes.

However, the respite was brief for Daggers as the visitors doubled their lead just two minutes later through Marcus Dinanga.

Eastman was forced off with injury and replaced by Sydney Ibie, with Daggers having an effort from a corner ruled out on 56 minutes after the referee spotted a foul.

Kendall had his name taken as the home side's frustrations grew, but Daggers enjoyed an encouraging spell around the hour mark as they looked for a way back into the match.

And Inih Effiong came on for Josh Rees midway through the second half to bolster their attack, with Weston almost finding the big striker with a cross from the right soon after.

Connor Lawless made way for Frank Vincent in the third change for Daggers and they were given a lifeline when Effiong found the net after good pressure forced Gateshead into a mistake at the back.

The home side's joy was shortlived, though, as Gateshead restored their two-goal cushion with Hannant's second on 76 minutes.

And when Daggers found the net four minutes later, their celebrations were cut short by an offside flag being raised.

Dinanga doubled his tally to make it 4-1 with seven minutes of normal time remaining, with Vincent booked late on.

And Kendall's goal, after Elliott Johnson did well to launch an attack, was little consolation for Daggers, despite 11 minutes of injury time, as they now head to Maidenhead United on Saturday.

Barnet were denied a third successive victory after conceding in the seventh minute of injury time to draw 3-3 at Eastleigh.

The Bees were buzzing after half an hour of play after racing into a 3-0 lead, but were pegged back by the home side and had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Zak Brunt sent an early effort wide, before Idris Kanu cut inside and curled a shot over the crossbar.

But Bees opened the scoring on 15 minutes when Kanu tapped in at the far post from Dale Gorman's corner.

Harry Pritchard and Danny Collinge saw efforts deflected behind for further corners and it was 2-0 on 19 minutes when another Gorman set-piece was headed in by Collinge for his third goal in as many games.

Kanu's stinging drive was spilled by Joe McDonnell on the half-hour mark and appeared to have crossed the line as Nicke Kabamba followed up to make sure.

But Eastleigh hit back in the 44th minute through Paul McCallum, before a great McDonnell save denied Kabamba in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Kabamba fired over on 56 minutes, with Pritchard picking up a yellow card just past the hour mark.

And Eastleigh cut the gap to on on 64 minutes as Scott Quigley netted, with another effort poked just wide midway through the half.

Kabamba had a shot saved at the expense of a corner on 73 minutes, but Brunt was unable to find the striker at the far post moments later.

Gorman was booked for time wasting at a free-kick in the last minute of normal time and McCallum levelled in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Wealdstone picked up a point from a 1-1 draw at Bromley.

Sam Bowen was given his first start for Stones and only four minutes had been played when Tahvon Campbell fired home to put them ahead.

Chinwike Okoli and Michael Cheek went close to replying for the hosts, before Campbell was played through on goal and saw his effort blocked, with Olufela Olomola firing over at the far post.

Olomola had another attempt well held by Grant Smith in stoppage time, after Ben Krauhaus had been booked for a late challenge on the striker moments earlier, with Alex Dyer also shown a yellow card before the break.

Smith held onto an effort from Olomola on 53 minutes, with the striker seeing another effort blocked from Charles Clayden's cut back moments later and firing a fierce effort into the side netting after running through on the hour.

But Micah Obiero had his name taken midway through the half, with Soul Kader getting Bromley back on terms on 70 minutes.

Bromley's Byron Webster sent a rising effort narrowly over the bar on 80 minutes, with Campbell firing straight at Smith when sent through two minutes from time.
