Barking Roadrunners were out in strength for the second race in the East London 5s ‘Elvis’ Series, hosted by Havering ’90 Joggers at Raphael Park.
More than 20 club runners took part in the well-attended event, with strong performances across both the men’s and women’s fields.
Shantelle Keech led the way for the club’s women as first finisher, followed by Belinda Riches, Debra Jean Baptiste, Nikki Cranmer, Emma Paisley, Louise Chappell, Sian Mansley, Alison Fryatt and Dawn Curtis.
In the men’s race, Dominic Herring was first home for Barking Roadrunners, ahead of Jack Stanford, Joshua Ezissi and Daniel Plawiak.
Tom Brennan and Jason Suddaby were next across the line, followed by Kevin Wotton, John George, Barry Rowell and Gary Rowell. Dennis Spencer Perkins, Rob Courtier and Darren Graham also completed the course for the club.
It was another strong turnout for Barking Roadrunners as the popular summer series continues.
Dagenham 88 runners were out in force across a range of events, with members competing from local parkruns to the Rayleigh 10k.
At the Rayleigh 10k, Allan Lacey crossed the line in 56.03, with David Lacey following in 1:08.15.
There was a strong turnout at Valentines parkrun, where Jennifer Akroyd led the club home in 27.09, closely followed by Manji Gami in 27.39 and James Byers in 28.00. Ronnie Waller recorded 54.26, while Kara Byers finished in 56.06, Sonya Byers in 56.45 and Joanna Smith close behind in 56.46.
At nearby Harrow Lodge, David Lacey completed the course in 29.24, followed by Abigail O’Shea in 34.25, Kian Lacey in 40.29 and Allan Lacey in 40.44. Raphael parkrun saw Roger Westwood post 25.25, with Sylvie Swinburne finishing in 35.27.
At Gunpowder parkrun, Timi Selon Veerasamy finished in 33.13, ahead of Kresh Veerasamy in 38.56 and Sam Veerasamy in 50.13. Over at Kingston, Peter Grant completed the course in 33.07, while David O’Brien ran 56.02 at Harrow.
Moving slightly further afield in Essex, Rahana Islam and Emma Dudman finished within two seconds of each other at Hadleigh in 29.45 and 29.47 respectively.
Beverley Eagles clocked 36.27 and Emma O’Shea 36.28. At Maldon Prom, Jenny O’Hanlon recorded 29.41, Lorraine Hilton 34.08 and Andrew Beazeley 48.19.
In Harpenden, Caroline Tuck produced a strong run of 25.05 at Rothamsted Park, while Gary Cardnell posted 29.46 at Catton parkrun in Norwich.
Further north, Tracey Sheehy recorded 25.02 and Nils Hollmann 27.02 at Aberdeen.
Finally, Kresh Veerasamy recorded an impressive 24.00 at Mitchells Plain parkrun in South Africa,
