Dagenham & Redbridge secured a 2-0 victory over Chesham United at Victoria Road thanks to first-half goals from Josh Addae and Remaye Campbell.
Campbell threatened early on, testing the Chesham goalkeeper after just three minutes, but his effort was kept out.
The Daggers continued to look for the breakthrough and found it after 24 minutes through Addae.
The forward broke down the right before producing a superb finish, lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to give Dagenham the lead against his former club.
Addae came close to doubling his tally in the 35th minute, sending another effort narrowly wide, while Chesham threatened at the other end as they looked for a response.

But Dagenham stood firm before making their pressure count in first-half stoppage time.
Marsh’s corner caused problems inside the Chesham penalty area and Campbell reacted quickest to tap home from close range, sending the Daggers into the break with a 2-0 advantage.
The hosts looked to add to their lead after the restart, with Addae doing well to find Makowski in behind the defence after 54 minutes, although his effort was blocked.
Chesham began to search for a way back into the contest as the second half progressed, but goalkeeper Ashmore was on hand to deny Eze’s long-range effort after 78 minutes.
Dagenham remained a threat themselves and almost grabbed a third in the closing stages when confusion inside the visitors’ penalty area presented Hawkins with an opportunity, only for the goalkeeper to react quickly and smother the ball.
Ashmore then played his part in preserving the clean sheet with an impressive double save in stoppage time, denying Chesham twice in quick succession.
The Daggers safely negotiated the remaining moments to secure all three points and a clean sheet at Victoria Road, with Addae and Campbell’s first-half strikes proving decisive.
