School Sport: Robert Clack pupils win Lee Valley Outdoor Cup title

Robert Clack’s year seven pupils came out on top at the Lee Valley Outdoor Cup last week.
A total of 36 schools took part in the competition and the Dagenham youngsters won with 303 points, some 47 clear of their nearest rivals.
Pupils took part in 100m, 200m, 800, 1500m, shot put, javelin, long jump, high jump and the 4x100m relay and the Clack team included Abdul S, Blye C, Rueben F, Baran O, Justinas K, Emis G, Malakai A, Dave P, Praise O, Marcus D, Ephraim C and Ben E.
Clack also entered two combined year eight/nine team, which finished fourth out of 41 teams and included Ruben A, David A, Kai H, Joseph S, Jordan C, Ibrahim H, Darlington H, Sid K, Joseph A, Romeo O, Harley W, Murphy M, Kai- Reece T, Spencer O, Joshua M and Matas B.
Teacher Lee Wilkins said: “This is a very prestigious competition and there are some very tough schools enter.
“There were loads of outstanding performances from both teams. Our teams broke two school and two Lee Valley Outdoor Cup records.
“Every single athlete was immense on the day and all either achieved a personal best or was very close.”
