Athletics: Dagenham 88s enjoy half challenges

Dagenham 88 Runners took on various half marathon challenges, among other events, at the weekend.
Paul Prior clocked 1:36.58 at the Royal Parks half, as Nils Hollmann ran a best of 1:43.08 in aid of Shelter.
Sara Prior clocked a best of 2:13.57 to complete her second of three challenges of Breast Cancer Awareness month, having been clear of the disease for three years.
Prior had already run the Chester marathon and will tackle the Great South Run.
Gary Cardnell (2:02.40) and Louise Chappell (2:10.21) took on the Wimbledon Common half, while Lynne Northcott set a best of 2:19.27 at the Birmingham event.
David O’Brien ran a best of 1:21.34 at the Yorkshire 10, in very soggy conditions, while Ian and Caroline Cummins took on tough cross-country routes in Wiltshire at the Chase Race Weekend.
Ian completed 29.5 miles in 7:18.21 on a windy but dry Saturday, while Caroline covered 14.8 miles in 3:45.04 in the rain on Sunday.
