It seems 10ks were the order of the weekend for Dagenham 88 Runners as 10 club members raced the distance across the country.

Jeff Webster took in the Hyde Park event and finished in 43 minutes exactly, despite crawling the last 500m after sufffering from stomach cramps.

Club-mate Leigh Moring was also in action at the same race, completing the course in 62.29.

Across the capital was the Winter Run 10k by the Thames, with Suzanne Castle the fastest Dagger in a time of 59.05 and Jayne Kendall (62.56) and Steve Easley (70.04) also finishing.

Keeping it in London, Sara Prior edged closer to the sub-hour mark with a time of 61.24 at the Victoria Park 10k.

At the same location, club-mate David O’Brien tackled the half marathon and set a new personal best of 1:48.49 as both runners collected Queen Victoria medals.

Charlotte Banks competed in the Hadleigh 2012 Legacy 10k and finished in 1:40.33, while husband Gary (1:30.05) also took part.

Further south, Kelly Drake-Tapscott (71.29) ran the Chilly Hilly 10k through the hills and woods of Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire,

On completion of the course, Drake-Tapscott also received a medal and hot bowl of chilli for her efforts.

In the latest Barking parkrun, Rahana Islam (25.30) was the joint-fastest club member home, along with son Ryder.

Alan Potter was next best in 26.56, followed by Bill Metcalfe (34.54), Vennisa Chowdhury (37.05) and Sam Veerasamy (37.11).

Raphaels: Kelly Drake-Tapscott 28.04; Jamie Summers 27.27; Luke Austin 27:27.

Gunpowder: Suzanne Castle 29.28; Stephen Easley 34.21.

Harrow Lodge: Peter Salmon 22.29; Rosina Salmon 29.43.

Bury St Edmunds: Caroline Tuck 23.53.
