A group of eight Dagenham 88 Runners tackled the testing Orion five-mile race around Epping Forest recently and were led home by Nils Hollmann, who clocked 41 minutes 10 seconds.

Rahana Islam (43.32) was next to finish, ahead of Ian Cummins (45.35), Emma Dudman (47.25) and Timi Veerasamy (48.10), as Sam Veerasamy (56.45), Jane Swanson-Sprent (58.43) and Sharon Robinson (58.43) also took part.

Other members ran and volunteered as baggage crew at the Vitality 10k around the Mall and Westminster, with Kirstie Woodgate coming home first in 59.56.

Jule Cardnell set a new personal best of 66.38, with Sara Prior (67.59) and Sarah Pegnall, running her first 10k in 1:38.17, also in action.

Meanwhile, Jamie Austin and Luke Summers finished the hilly Richmond 10 in 1:42.09, as Gary Cardnell completed the Wolf Run, a 10-mile obstacle race in Leicester, in 98.14.

Joel Denning took on the Hertfordshire Olympic triathlon of 1,500m swim, 50k bike and 10k run, finishing in 3:01.59, while Sam Mileham covered the sprint triathlon distances of 750m, 25k and 5k at Blenheim Palace and finished as 16th elite junior, 46th overall.

And Dagenham youngster Thomas Dudman tackled the Greenwich Aquathlon of 300m swim and 3k run in 17.59.

Suzanne Easley took part in her 100th parkrun at Raphael Park, clocking 35.06, while Jak Wright set a new course record of 6.49 at the Barking & Dagenham junior parkrun at Central Park.

Oliver Grange clocked a new best of 10.14, while Dagenham’s Jack Palmer (11.24), Krishan Chowdhury (11.28), Freddie Palmer (14.30) and Annika Chowdhury (14.33) were also in action.
